What InventList is and who it's for

InventList is a directory and public changelog for indie products. Makers add their product and then log ships — launches, features, fixes, milestones, and announcements — to build a permanent, searchable timeline. It also offers series, stories, roundups, and a maker profile system.

Indie makers, developers, and early adopters actively looking for new tools.

It lists

  • SaaS apps
  • Developer tools
  • Mobile apps
  • Browser extensions
  • Side projects
  • Micro-products
  • AI tools

How to submit to InventList, step by step

Submit your product for free by signing in with Google, GitHub, or X, then adding your project with name, one-liner, and URL. Free listings include the ability to log ships, write series, and earn a Verified Badge.

  1. Sign in with Google, GitHub, or X

Go to the submit page and choose one of the three OAuth providers. Email sign-in is only for existing accounts.

  2. Add your project

Click 'Add Project' and fill in the basics: name, one-liner, and URL. It takes about 30 seconds.

  3. Log your first ship

Create a ship entry with a title, type (Launch, Feature, Improvement, Fix, Milestone, or Announcement), and optional description, screenshots, links, and version number.

  4. Optionally embed the badge

Embed InventList's badge on your product website and check for it from your product page to become eligible for trending, newsletter consideration, and search indexing.

  5. Optionally verify domain ownership

Add a unique DNS TXT record to prove control of your product's domain and earn a blue ownership check.

InventList pricing: free vs paid

Category Sponsor$30/weekTop spot in your product's category page, 7 days of premium placement, labelled 'Sponsored'

Why InventList submissions get rejected or stall

  • Product is not an indie product or dev-first tool (sponsorship review may reject non-dev tools)
  • Cannot verify domain ownership via DNS TXT record for blue check
  • Badge not embedded and one-off reach payment not made, so listing may not be eligible for trending, newsletter, or search indexing
  • Sponsorship request may be denied if product quality is insufficient; feedback provided

Tips for a listing that gets approved

  • Embed the InventList badge on your product website to unlock trending, newsletter consideration, and search indexing for free.
  • Log ships consistently — active builders get more visibility in the Stream and newsletter.
  • Use the series editor to write long-form content with inline ship embeds, turning your product page into a narrative.
  • Verify domain ownership with a DNS TXT record to earn the blue check, which is free and separate from sponsorship.

Our take on InventList

InventList is ideal for indie makers who ship regularly and want a permanent, searchable changelog that also functions as a directory listing. It's free to submit and log ships, with optional paid sponsorship for extra visibility. Expect a community of builders and early adopters, not a mass consumer audience.

InventList FAQ

Is InventList free?

Yes, completely free. Add projects, log ships, create roundups, share stories, build your maker profile — all free. No credit card required.

Click 'Add Project' in the header. Fill in the basics: name, one-liner, URL. It takes 30 seconds and it's free.

What kind of projects belong on InventList?

Any indie product you're actively building: SaaS apps, developer tools, mobile apps, browser extensions, side projects, micro-products.
