How to choose a directory submission service
Can you see the directory list before paying?
Our 322 directories are public with their domain rating, and so are our directory submission guides. SubmitSaaS publishes its list on its homepage and Submitator shows its catalog. ListingBott shows your 100 directories after payment.
What proof do you get?
A screenshot and a date for each submission shows what was sent and when. Ask for the logins too: they let you edit a listing, answer reviews or claim it later.
Whose email are the accounts on?
Directory sign-ups send confirmations and newsletters. A dedicated inbox keeps them out of yours; SubmitSaaS and Submit by Hand create one per order, and TinyLaunch can use one you control.
Read DR guarantees closely
Domain rating is Ahrefs’ score for the links pointing at a site. The guarantees above depend on where your site starts (SubmitWell writes them “0 to 10+”, TinyLaunch scales them by starting DR) and on a time window.
Check how paid directories are handled
Some directories only list you for a fee. SubmitSaaS leaves paid ones out, LaunchDirectories and Submitator include some paid upgrades, and Submit by Hand replaces any paid-only site with another free one until your count is full.
Speed or pace
Delivery ranges from 48 hours to a month. Submit by Hand spreads submissions over 2–3 weeks, and you can follow every one in your report as it happens.
How we compared
On Oct 24, 2026 we opened the pricing and service pages of each service and copied its prices, directory counts, delivery times, proof and guarantees as written; quotes are word for word. Struck-through prices are listed as the service shows them. Submit by Hand is our own service, and its row follows the same rules: it is what our pricing page promises.
FAQ
How much does a directory submission service cost?
For about 100 directories, the services compared here charge from $59 (SubmitWell) to $500 (Outrank), one-time. Submit by Hand is $249 for 100, $149 for 50 and $399 for 200.
Is directory submission still worth it in 2026?
Directories are where people browse new tools by category, and many keep your listing for years. A listing brings a link back to your site and a page that search engines and AI assistants can find. What it is worth for you depends on how well the directories fit your product, which is why the choice of directories matters more than the count.
Do directory submission services guarantee approval?
None of the services compared here guarantees that every directory will publish your listing; each directory decides that itself. What they do guarantee varies: the number of submissions, a delivery time, a DR target with conditions, or a refund for undelivered work.
Manual or automated: does it matter?
Directories differ in forms, categories, image sizes and character limits, and many ask you to confirm by email. Services say how they handle this in their own words, which we quote in the table. Look at the proof you get: a screenshot and a date for each submission shows exactly what was sent and when.
How long does directory submission take?
From 48 hours (SubmitSaaS) to about a month (ListingBott) for the submissions themselves. Directories then take from minutes to several weeks to publish a listing.
